The site includes a courtyard, seating, and park amenities to encourage all visitors, including disabled veterans and their caregivers, to enjoy a moment of quiet reflection and serenity.

The NC Veterans Memorial Pavilion:
A Single Legacy of Service
The Pavilion stands as North Carolina's enduring salute to every generation of warriors who have answered our nation’s call. This is a place built to recognize the continuity of sacrifice, where service members from all eras appear together—a single family unified by valor, duty, and honor. We invite you to visit this sacred space, located peacefully within Broadway Park, for quiet reflection and enduring remembrance.
Architectural Dignity and Design
The Memorial Pavilion is a beautiful example of Classical architecture, built solely through community contributions. The structure features large, tapered, round columns resting on a twenty-four-foot octagonal base, topped by graceful arches and heavy crown molding. An elegant, vented clerestory highlights the copper roof.
The grounds are designed for accessibility and peace. A dedicated handicap ramp and brick-step entrance afford easy access to the Pavilion. Visitors are invited to stroll the surrounding courtyards and walkways, constructed using brick pavers and inscribed memorial bricks. We provide amenities, including benches, picnic tables, and strategic lighting, to ensure the park is a usable space for all families and visitors.

The Memorial Wall:
A Living Legacy
Eternalizing the valor of North Carolina's service members. Each inscription represents a legacy of sacrifice, preserved in polished granite as an unfailing record of our bravest citizens.
The North Carolina Veterans Memorial Wall serves as a permanent tribute to the names of those who have stood in defense of our nation. Comprised of high-polished granite and bronze panels, the wall is organized into searchable segments. Each plaque is a unique tribute, ensuring that the individual stories of North Carolina's veterans are never forgotten.

The Commemorative Monument:
A Destination of Honor
The Monument dedicated to the NC Disabled Veterans is located within the Park's building, situated just a few steps from the main Pavilion structure.
Dedicated to North Carolina Disabled Veterans
The monument features three elegant white marble slats inscribed with text. It stands as a unique and powerful tribute, offering profound recognition for North Carolina's disabled veterans who continue to bear the lasting physical and emotional scars of their service. We encourage all visitors to dedicate time to reflection at this significant spot.
Visitor Facilities and Accessibility
The placement of the monument within the park building also offers visitors immediate access to essential amenities:
Restrooms: Public restrooms are available within the same building and are open during normal business hours.
Accessibility: The monument is fully integrated into the building's accessible pathways, ensuring all visitors, including disabled veterans and caregivers, can easily view and access this dedicated space.
